The London Literature Festival is currently on at the Southbank centre 30th Sept – 13th Oct.
This year the festival focuses on themes of freedom, justice and democracy.
In the spirit of these themes, tonight see’s a panel debate focusing on black and asian poets in the UK, discussing and promoting diversity and quality in British poetry. The panel debate, hosted by Bernadine Evaristo, will be followed by a 2 hour performance featuring rising stars like Sarah Howe, Kayo Chingonyi, Edward Doegar, Inua Ellams, Warsan Sire plus more all featured in a new poetry collection: Ten: The New Wave
Here’s a personal favourite reading of a poem by Warsan Shire.
